BEST Fried Cabbage

Fried cabbage is one flavorful and keto friendly side dish that's filled with tender cabbage, crispy bacon and tons of seasonings.

  • 6 pieces bacon cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons stone ground mustard or Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 head cabbage sliced and chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste


  • Heat a large pan on medium heat and add the sliced bacon. Cook until crispy, then removed to a paper towel lined plate.

  • Add the onion and saute for 2-3 minutes, or until it's translucent.
  • Add the garlic, mustard, smoked paprika, salt and pepper and give it a stir to combine. Then place the sliced cabbage on top and use a large spoon or tongs to stir and saute together for another 12-15 minutes.

  • When the cabbage is done it should be soft and starting to caramelize. Then toss the bacon back in together.


To Store: Place the fried cabbage in an air-tight container for up to 5 days in the fridge.
To Meal Prep: Store this in a container inside the fridge. When you're ready to eat, simply microwave it or give it a quick sauté in the pan.
