Keyword: Mint Julep, Mint Julep Cocktail, Summer cocktail
Servings: 1 cocktail
- 2 ounces Kentucky Bourbon
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 8 mint leaves plus more for garnish
- crushed ice
Muddle. Add the mint leaves and honey to a julep or highball glass, and gently muddle together to release the mint oils without tearing the leaves.
Fill the glass. Add the bourbon and stir together with the muddled mint leaves and honey. Fill the cup with crushed ice. Stir until the outside of the glass frosts. Then, mound more crushed ice on top into a dome shape.
Garnish. Garnish with additional mint leaves before serving.
- If you're avoiding alcohol or have kiddos who want to join in on the fun, the key is replacing the bourbon with something that still gives a little depth. I've used brewed black tea before, and it still tastes so refreshing!
